Agilent 7890B Gas Chromatography System
Separation of volatile and semi-volatile compounds.
Gas chromatography separates the components of a mixture as they travel through a heated capillary column. Compounds are identified by the time they take to leave the column and are quantified by their detector response.
The Agilent 7890B has been part of the laboratory since 2014 and is typically coupled with our 5977A Mass Selective Detector. Electronic pneumatic control of gas flows and pressures gives consistent retention times from run to run.
Applications
- Volatile and semi-volatile organic compound analysis
- Solvent and residual solvent determinations
- Fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) profiles
- Hydrocarbon and fuel characterization
- Headspace gas analysis for process and research samples
Typical Sample Types
Liquids, extracts, headspace gases and derivatized samples. Please contact us about container and preservation requirements before sampling.
