Agilent 5977A Mass Selective Detector
Single-quadrupole mass spectrometry for GC-MS identification.
The 5977A Mass Selective Detector is a single-quadrupole mass spectrometer that ionizes compounds as they elute from the gas chromatograph and records their mass spectra. Each spectrum acts as a fingerprint that can be matched against reference libraries.
Combined with the 7890B, the system provides both identification of unknown compounds and targeted quantification using selected ion monitoring for improved sensitivity.
