We have completed the installation and method validation of an Agilent 7890B Gas Chromatography system paired with a 5977A Mass Selective Detector. This system replaces our previous GC instrument and provides improved sensitivity, faster oven ramp rates, and mass spectral identification capability.

The 7890B will serve as our primary platform for volatile and semi-volatile organic compound analysis, including environmental samples, process streams, and research matrices. The mass selective detector gives us the ability to confirm compound identities rather than relying solely on retention time, which is particularly important for complex or unfamiliar sample types.

Method development and validation work is ongoing for several standard configurations. Clients with GC-related analytical needs are welcome to contact the laboratory to discuss their project.
