Illumina MiSeq System

Illumina MiSeq System

Short-read next-generation sequencing for amplicons, small genomes and targeted panels.

The Illumina MiSeq is a benchtop next-generation sequencer based on sequencing-by-synthesis chemistry. It produces highly accurate paired-end reads and is well suited to projects that need reliable data from a moderate number of samples.

At GML the MiSeq supports marker-gene surveys of microbial communities, small genome sequencing and targeted amplicon panels. We handle the complete workflow in house, from extraction and library preparation through quality control, sequencing and data delivery.

Applications

  • 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing for microbial community analysis
  • Whole-genome sequencing of bacterial isolates and small genomes
  • Targeted amplicon panels and variant confirmation
  • Plasmid and construct verification
  • Library quality checks before larger sequencing runs

Typical Sample Types

Extracted DNA, amplicons or prepared libraries. Environmental, microbial, industrial and research samples can be extracted in house.
