TA Instruments TAM III Microcalorimeter
Isothermal microcalorimetry of biological and chemical processes.
Isothermal microcalorimetry measures the very small amounts of heat produced or absorbed as a process takes place. Almost every chemical reaction and biological activity involves heat, so the technique can monitor processes that are difficult to follow by other methods.
The TAM III holds samples in an extremely stable thermostat, allowing heat flows at the microwatt level to be recorded continuously for hours or days without disturbing the sample.
Applications
- Microbial metabolic activity and growth
- Stability and compatibility testing of materials and formulations
- Reaction kinetics and curing processes
- Effects of inhibitors, biocides and treatments on microbial activity
Typical Sample Types
Solids, liquids, cultures, soils and formulations in sealed ampoules.
