Two members of our laboratory staff attended the American Society for Microbiology annual meeting in New Orleans this past week. The conference provided an opportunity to review developments in environmental microbiology, molecular detection methods, and laboratory instrumentation.

Of particular interest were sessions on next-generation sequencing applications for environmental and industrial microbiology, which align with several areas our clients have asked about in recent months. We also visited vendor exhibits to evaluate equipment that may support future service expansions.
