The first phase of our molecular biology build-out is complete. We have installed and validated the following thermal cycling equipment:

• Applied Biosystems ProFlex PCR System — a flexible three-block thermal cycler supporting gradient optimization and various plate and tube formats
• Eppendorf Mastercycler nexus GSX1 — a high-capacity gradient cycler for routine PCR applications
• Thermo Scientific Arktik Thermal Cycler — an additional workhorse platform with fast ramping for time-sensitive protocols

Three thermal cyclers may seem like a lot for a laboratory that is just entering the molecular biology space. However, PCR is foundational to nearly everything else we plan to offer, and having multiple platforms ensures we can handle concurrent projects, different protocol requirements, and equipment maintenance without workflow interruptions.
